About

Hi, I’m Tanner.

I’ve built more than a thousand websites over twenty-plus years. Today I work as a web partner for small and mid-size teams: building, running and improving WordPress and Shopify sites, and helping teams put AI to work where it fits.

How I work

A good website starts with understanding what it’s for.

I start from what your team needs to deliver, then shape the plan around how you like to work. Some clients want detailed proposals and timelines; others want to talk it through as we go. Either way, we agree the scope before anything is signed.

Building a website is a lot like building a house: there are many ways to do it, and the right one depends on how you’ll live in it.

The network

When a project needs more hands, I bring in people I trust, including Bluehouse Group in Burlington, where I’m part of the team. You still have one point of contact: me.

Based in Vermont, working with teams anywhere. I’ve joined plenty of morning calls at 9pm in Phnom Penh.

What I hold to

Four things you can count on.

Straight answers

What your site needs, what it costs and what can wait, so you can decide with confidence.

Built to last

Fast, maintainable sites your team can update and grow.

Accessible by default

Every site I build is held to WCAG and ADA standards from the start.

One person, clearly

You’ll know who you’re working with, from the first call to long after launch.

Who I do it for

Behind every one-man team is his family.

When I’m off the clock, I’m usually travelling with my family, looking for somewhere without internet.
